Affinity Diagramming for Collaboratively Sorting UX Findings and Design Ideas

Affinity Diagramming is traditionally used to sort ideas in a workshop. It is however also a useful technique to sort and synthesise data from UX research.

How does it work:

  • Write an observation made during research on a sticky
  • Group observations together that have a connection
  • Give them a name
  • Consider alternative groupings, play with the data
