UX Research Coaching

The support of a UX research coach brings many benefits. Together you can define specific areas you would like to focus on and develop. These can relate to user research craft/methods as well as soft skills related to being a UX researcher. Your coach provides feedback on projects you are currently working on. A UX research coach also creates a safe place for encouragement, personal awareness and professional development.

Below are some examples of areas we provide coaching on. Not sure what you need? No problem! In the first session(s) your coach figures out your coaching goals with you. You can also receive coaching together with a colleague.

UX Research Coaching Areas

  • UX research methods (e.g., usability testing, cardsorting, survey, interview, diary study, journey, eyetracking & other)
  • Interviewing skills
  • UX research process (e.g., planning, analysis, sharing)
  • Stakeholder management (e.g., buy-in, engagement, workshops, working with analytics)

I started my career as a socio-historical researcher, and by chance moved into the UX field in 2007. After learning the ropes of UX design, I specialised in UX research. I was lucky to work on many innovation projects that required exploratory research – which I love.

Aside from doing research, I also facilitate co-creation and have delivered design thinking training at KPN and Philips. I have worked for small and large organisations in Australia and The Netherlands. I have an MA in History and recently completed a post-academic course in Behaviour Change.

As a trainer/coach, I believe in learning through doing and reflecting. I create a safe space for people to learn, while at the same time challenging them to put what they’ve learned into practice. I like everyone to have fun along the way.

LinkedIn

I am a UX researcher and the founder of UXinsight. With a background in psychology, I started working as a UX researcher in 2000. I worked as a researcher in a large enterprise, as well as for small agencies. With over 20 years of research experience, I’m open to every research challenge. I still love to dive into a new study each time.

As a trainer/coach, I aim to create an open atmosphere for people to feel safe and welcome to share information and experiences. Each coaching process is different, which makes it interesting, diverse and fun.

I am a design researcher, UX specialist and UX research trainer with a background in Industrial design and marketing. My strength is to listen and understand. I solve complex puzzles and feel challenged by difficult problems. My ambition is to ensure that products and services make people’s lives more enjoyable, easier and more valuable. I strongly believe in human-centred design and apply the user-centred design principles in my work.

Since 2016 I work on UX research strategies for various companies through my own company, mbstudio. Since 2017 I train and coach other UX research professionals.

LinkedIn

I am a Senior UX researcher and UX Research Ambassador at UXinsight. With 7+ years of UX research experience working in agile environments and background in social sciences, I am passionate about designing experiences informed by data and driven by empathy.

Previously, I worked at Booking.com and supported multi-disciplinary teams by using qualitative and quantitative data to inform product design, strategy, metrics and data models. I am excited about mixed-methods research and collaborations with other insights disciplines (e.g., data science/analytics).

I love to learn and to contribute to the research community through mentorship & knowledge sharing. I am currently also a mentor on UX Coffee Hours.
